Lasik

Custom Laser Vision Correction (LASIK): Our practice has been performing laser vision correction since 1996. We perform state of the art custom laser vision correction in our in-office laser suite. We use the WaveLight® Allegretto Wave® Laser. This system is designed to provide customized treatment which helps improve the quality of vision after laser vision correction. For more information about this laser system please visit www.myoptilasik.com. We perform a thorough preoperative examination to ensure that you are an excellent candidate for the procedure. We examine the eye with the Pentacam corneal analyzer to confirm that the cornea is thick enough and strong enough for the procedure. We screen all patients for dry eye. Blade-free surface laser vision correction is available for those patients with a thin cornea or those whose lifestyles preclude, or whose preference is to avoid, a corneal flap. For more information regarding laser vision correction please visit www.eyesurgeryeducation.com.

All of your preoperative and postoperative care is provided by our surgeons. We believe that the personal attention of your surgeon is important before, during and after refractive surgery.

Our Philosophy: We are committed to providing our patients with excellent results. If we do not think that you will have a result that will satisfy you, we will not recommend the procedure. For some patients contact lenses or glasses are a better option. Our first concern is your safety and long term satisfaction.

Payment plans are available which can allow you to pay for your laser vision correction procedure with low or zero interest financing. Please ask us for further information if you are interested, or visit: http://www.carecredit.com/

Cataract Surgery: We perform the latest technique of small incision, no shot, no patch, topical anesthesia cataract surgery. It is performed as outpatient surgery. We typically do not require our patients to have an IV placed. We prescribe an oral sedative before the procedure. After the procedure, patients can typically return to their usual activities the next day. Medication eye drops are prescribed starting the night before and continued for three weeks after the procedure. New glasses, if needed, are prescribed three weeks after the procedure. The second eye, if needed, can have surgery one to two weeks after the first. We do not perform surgery on the second eye until we are certain that the first eye is doing well.

We offer the latest in intraocular lens implant technology including the AcrySof TORIC lens for astigmatism reduction and the RESTOR® and REZOOM® multifocal lenses to reducedependence on reading glasses. The CRYSTALENS® is also available for certain patients who may not be good candidates for a multifocal lens implant. To learn more about these exciting new advances, please visit www.readclearlyagain.com. A final decision should only be made after consultation with your surgeon who can help you decide after discussing your lifestyle and the specifics regarding your eyes.

The medical part of the procedure is usually covered by medical insurance after any deductibles and/or co-payments are met. Medical insurance typically includes the cost of a standard monofocal lens implant. A monofocal lens implant allows for good distance vision but requires reading glasses or bifocals for near vision. Multifocal lens implants are typically not covered by medical insurance.

Conductive Keratoplasty (CK): We perform conductive keratoplasty in our office surgery suite. CK involves placing usually 8 to 16 spots on the peripheral cornea using a radio wave device which tightens the tissue and steepens the cornea. CK can treat hyperopia (farsightedness) and improve distance vision without glasses. For hyperopia both eyes are usually treated. CK treatment can also be used to help near vision in patients who have developed difficulty reading without glasses. For near vision, one eye is usually treated. For further information, please visit www.myclearvision.com.
